If you’re a frequent shopper at Old Navy, then the Old Navy credit card may be for you. The card includes several different perks but there’s also some negatives to it.

We will break down all the information you’ll need to decide if the Old Navy credit card is for you.

Old Navy Credit Card Review – Is It Worth It In 2023?
    1. Earn rewards anywhere Visa is accepted, including Gap
    2. Rewards are only accepted at Gap Inc. Stores
    3. Earn $10 in rewards by opting into a few things
    4. Benefits for Old Navy credit card holders who reach “Navyist” level
    5. The Negatives
    Conclusion

    1. Earn rewards anywhere Visa is accepted, including Gap

    You can earn the following:

    • Online & In-store purchases give you 5 points for every $1 spent at Gap Inc. brands
    • Everywhere else will offer 1 point for every $1 spent where Visa is accepted

Banana Republic, Old Navy, Gap, Athleta, and any other Gap Inc. stores will also allow you to earn 5 points for every $1 spent.

    2. Rewards are only accepted at Gap Inc. Stores

While the rewards for this credit card’s program are limited to purchases at Old Navy, Gap, and Banana Republic (also Banana Republic Factory), they can still be very beneficial as they provide exclusive deals and early access to sales.

There’s no total spending limit, but you’ll need to use up your rewards within the last 12 months. Rewards expire after 12 months of not earning or redeeming points.

For more flexibility in your rewards, think about getting a cash-back credit card that allows you to spend your money on things outside of a few stores.

    3. Earn $10 in rewards by opting into a few things

The Old Navy credit card provides cardholders with 500 bonus points for each of the following:

    • Opting into their newsletter gives you 500 reward points
    • Signing up for paperless billing also earns you an additional 500 points

By doing these two options, you’ll end up with a total of 1,000 extra reward points or $10 in rewards.

    4. Benefits for Old Navy credit card holders who reach “Navyist” level

If you’re able to earn 5,000 reward points in a single calendar year, then you can qualify for the Navyist status level.

    • Navyist members get an additional 20% in reward points
    • Free shipping from online orders
    • Free clothing modifications for Banana Republic
    • Personal customer service line

Once you reach the Navyist card holder status, you’ll have to continue to earn 5,000 reward points every year.

    5. The Negatives

The Old Navy credit card is pretty straight-forward with no annual fee. But the negative part is that there’s no introductory interest rate. The APR automatically starts at 25.99%.

This is a high rate APR that can be dangerous if you start to miss your payments or don’t pay off your balance in full.

    Conclusion

We only recommend the Old Navy credit card if you typically earn 5,000 reward points per year. Which translates to $1,000 per year. If you don’t meet that threshold, we suggest you look at other general credit cards.
